A new education programme designed to help inspire young people to consider a career in engineering is being launched by LEGO Education, a line specially developed in order to facilitate group learning through the means of construction.

Known as the Elite Engineering Programme (or EEP), the renowned toy manufacturer aims to help youngsters gain an understanding into the basics of engineering via its toy blocks, which have been a perennial favourite with children of all ages since 1949.

The programme is aimed at upper primary/lower secondary school children, and all schools chosen to participate will be provided access to LEGO Mindstorms packs, along with guidance on how to assemble projects.

As an ISO9001 accredited firm and experts in welding and fabrication, Real Engineering (Yorkshire) Ltd. fully supports LEGO’s campaign to encourage children to gain an insight into the world of engineering.
